What’s happening?

Yesterday was my 40th birthday.

I spent it with my dearest friends, people I love.

I feel blessed. And hungover.

Which got me thinking…

  1. About paying the price.

Nothing is free, especially indulgence. There’s always a trade off. One door opening means one door closing. Sleeping in means a shorter day. A wild night means a weary morning.

So, weigh your choices and tally the opportunity costs of your decisions.

  2. About friendship and family.

Some people have such a deep impact they change the course of your life. Some people come and go. Some people are meant to stick around and others aren’t.

So, cherish the time you have together and hold nothing back.

  3. About adulthood.

Nobody has it figured out—we’re all making it up as we go along. But experience is a great teacher in life and failure is the greatest of all.

So, be patient and cut yourself some slack. Shit happens, but shit happens for a reason.

Finally, aging is a gift. You are one in four trillion. The fact you exist, as you are, is a miracle.

The fact you’re living through all life’s perils… Well, that’s what it means to fight the odds.

You never know what tomorrow has in store. Be thankful for every breath and take nothing for granted.

Life’s a trip. Enjoy the ride.

Here are 15 things you might find interesting.

Some words

Schwellenangst (German): The fear of beginning a new chapter; the anxiety you experience before entering the unknown.

What you see in yourself is what you see in the world.
– Afghan proverb

“In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or step back into safety.”
– Abraham Maslow

Some wonder

Some wealth

Some wellness

Some work

That’s a wrap. I hope you found something interesting.

Keep building.
