This is a minimalist black-and-white line drawing of a balance scale or seesaw. A long, thin horizontal plank rests on a triangular fulcrum in the centre. The plank is slightly tilted, with the left side raised and the right side lowered, suggesting imbalance. Small motion lines appear near both ends of the plank, implying gentle wobbling or instability. The triangular base sits firmly beneath the centre point, with stress lines along the edges from the weight of the plank.

In moderation

Whatever you do, do it in moderation.

Isn’t that what they say?

They say a lot of things.

Too little, too much. Too late, too soon.

Rest, relax, and rock and roll. Kick your feet up but don’t let your guard down.

Sleep with both eyes open.

Stay in your lane. Don’t colour outside of the lines. Learn the rules.

But only so you can break them.

Believe in yourself, believe in people. Don’t trust anyone, do as you’re told.

Look before you take a leap of faith.

Take time to think, time to not think at all. Think outside of the box.

Better safe than sorry—stay inside, tucked away like porcelain.

Be kind to others. Be strict with yourself. Treat yourself but stay away from that.

Beware of vices, beware of safety nets. Be enemies with comfort and friends with discomfort.

Push the envelope, break boundaries.

Don’t make a scene.

There’s always room for improvement. But if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Quality over quantity. But quantity leads to quality.

Have your fill. Don’t spoil your dinner!

Slow and steady wins the race. You lose if you snooze. So act fast, ride the wave, don’t miss out.

Good things come to those that wait. If it’s meant to be, it will be.

Patience is a virtue, better strike while the iron’s hot. Only fools rush in, good thing fortune favours the bold.

Go big or go home. Less is more.

Some things never change, some wounds never heal.

Time heals all.

Death comes for us all

All to say: sometimes you should, sometimes you shouldn’t.

Well, sometimes I did, sometimes I didn’t.

(Most times, I don’t do anything at all.)

Rarely have I been moderate. I’m all in or all out. All excessive or all exclusive.

Not the best way to live. Not the worst, either.

Guess I’m still searching for the sweet spot.

It’s like they say: you get what you pay for and the best things in life are free.

There are three pencils, each with a broken tip.
