What’s happening?
I missed another issue. Sorry about that.
Here’s the thing, I’m burnt out.
I’ve been on the go since my dad had his strokes two months ago.
When I’m not working, I’m visiting him at the hospital, which is two-hours away.
As his Power of Attorney, I’m handling all of his responsibilities—along with my own.
I’ve also put a lot of pressure on myself in other areas of my life. From my full-time job to freelancing, my relationship to my health and fitness.
Plus, after going 229 days without smoking weed, I relapsed. That was back on the 15th of March.
Now, I’ve since quit again (today is day 20), but I’ve been pretty hard on myself about crumbling to temptation.
Add it all up, and you get stress, self-loathing, and shitty mental health.
So, I made the difficult decision to pause this newsletter for a while.
I enjoy writing to you. It’s been helpful for me to process the thoughts in my head.
Hopefully you’ve found something interesting along the way. Maybe even helpful.
But I need to strip back, not pour on.
Because I can’t keep up…
Like I said, I’ve put a lot of pressure on myself. One less thing on my plate is what’s best for my well-being right now.
I’ll leave you with some unsolicited advice:
- When you feel like you’re drowning, don’t add more weight
- Don’t take life for granted and don’t over complicate it
- Enjoy this day, this hour, this second
- Prioritize health and happiness
- Remember to have fun
Thanks for reading. Taking your time to do so has been a gift.
PS: It’s a temporary hiatus. Promise.
