There’s a time when reading and learning become procrastination in disguise.
At some point, you have to take action. It’s the only way to move forward and grow. Truly.
This is where I’m at now.
- I read a lot about growth and stoic philosophy
- I’m constantly learning about copywriting and creativity
- I have personal and professional goals I want to achieve before time runs out
But I’m making little progress. Because I’m not taking action—I’m procrastinating, straight up.
Which has me thinking…
- About discipline.
How do you show up when you don’t want to? How do you get shit done when the resistance is stronger than your willpower? How do you stay consistent long enough to see results?
- About motivation.
How do you get started when you’re not inspired? How do you overcome your lower self, the lazy self? How do you keep going when you’re always fighting yourself? - And about dreams versus reality.
How do you turn one into the other? How do you know what the right next step is? How do you know when to keep going, when to change course, and when to let go?
Truth is, I don’t have the answers. I’m struggling with self-doubt and self-management.
I know what I want to do and what I need to do to make it happen. But the past couple of months have been a battle.
I guess this is where patience comes into the play, where you have to trust the process.
I guess this is where you keep going, where you keep building. Bit by tiny bit.
I guess this is what it means to live life: under construction.
I’m reminded of a quote from Seth Rogen. He said, “If you don’t quit, you *might* make it. And if you quit, you *definitely* won’t make it.”
Well, nobody likes a quitter.
Here are 15 things you might find interesting.
