Tag: self-doubt

This is a flat, black-and-whilte line drawing of a person. The drawing is one continuous line, never breaking to draw another part of the person’s body. They have their back to you with their arms raised over their head. Each hand rests upon the top of the person’s head. It’s as though they are in disbelief. Or like they’re shocked, having come to some sort of deep realization.

Always in my way

The moment I realized the problem was me: 454 words about being in my own way.

A black-and-white line drawing shows a winding two-lane road. It curves sharply to the right and abruptly ends at a jagged cliff, with cracked concrete and rubble falling off the edge. Just before the cliff, on the left side of the road, stands a large billboard. The billboard displays the partially written phrase GUILT TRI… in blocky letters and trailing off with ellipses, suggesting the word GUILT TRIP. There are sparse patches of grass on either side of the road and the setting feels remote. The imagery suggests an emotional or psychological journey that leads to a sudden stop or dead end, consistent with themes of unresolved guilt and pressure.

The word courage is written on a rectangular piece of fabric. The fabric is torn and slightly frayed around the edges. It's laying on a wooden surface with a rough grain pattern.

“If I only had a nerve.”

It can take years to close the gap. Do you have the courage to keep going?

This image is a simple black-and-white line drawing of a hot air balloon. The balloon’s canopy is made up of several vertical panels, each drawn with gentle curves to suggest a soft, fabric-like texture. The panels converge at the top of the balloon, giving the structure a rounded, dome-like appearance. Thin lines run vertically along each panel, adding depth and dimension to the balloon's surface, indicating where the fabric might fold or crease. The basket at the bottom of the hot air balloon is rectangular and attached to the balloon by two ropes. The basket is empty, without passengers.
